Union News letter

677 Prime Albany NY

So I was out yesterday doing a job for union reps within the food preparations industry. Our first stop was at one of Albany's premier restaurants; 677 prime on Broadway in downtown Albany.

An excellent atmosphere and an even better staff. Even though I was the odd guy with a camera in the kitchen, they all acted professional and friendly. A great place to eat from what I watched in the kitchen. Nothing is better than watching a beautiful piece of meat enter the broiler. Okay maybe the sounds and smell are better than the sight.

Tables, Chairs, Bar and the Baby Grand piano all looked great and was a fun time photographing them. I wish I had some more time to do a better job and get some more working shots.

Rock of the Ages Beginning

Rock of The Ages Photography

This is the first of many posts to come for Rock of the Ages Photography. Things started out a little slow but being patient and trusting God has helped me to see this business take form. I started RotAP because I have always had a passion for creating art. I never thought that this desire would lean towards photography. Once I got my hands on a camera and began learning the art within, it has been all down hill from there. My Facebook page was where I posted my own photos of family, friends, flowers and insects. This quickly turned into my medium for posting previews of work I was doing.

You ever wonder how businesses get started?  Well my photography business began with a mother looking to have her daughters birthday photographed. I responded to her ad. I was looking to build a portfolio and to get my feet wet. She took a chance on me. I was and still am greatly appreciative of Annie Carr for giving me my start. She and her family were wonderful and they made my first official job an excellent experience. If anyone is interested in the Bows and Tutus that are pictured to the right, check out her Facebook pages.

My next job was unexpected to say the least. I received a phone call from a man Named Edsel Tupaz. An awesome man who  was being sworn into the New York State Bar.

We talked briefly on the phone about what he was looking for and we quickly setup the date and time for the shoot. He gave me a chance and I took it with good results. He helped to inspire my drive to find more work. I still follow his Facebook page as he post about his legal work and interviews.
